If you fancied a glass of wine with your meal, you had to go to a hotel restaurant. The upside of the hotel bar scene is that you're likely to find yourself hanging out in some truly amazing venues that, because of the location and cost, you might never have considered trying back home. The Licensing laws have got stricter for bars and nightclubs in Doha. You need now to present identification and, in some places, buy a membership card to gain entry. The busiest nights are wednesday, thursday and Friday, so be sure to book ahead where possible.
